The phase one of Basic Training for Catechists (BTC) in Bengali was organised at Nitika Don Bosco, Kolkata from 11th to 14th December 2022. This training programme was for the parish lay Catechists. There were altogether twenty members who had registered their names. However, due to unavoidable circumstances three could not be present for the same. All the Catechists were from our own Salesian parishes of Diamond Harbour, Monsada, Kalyani and Auxilium Parish. The resource persons for this training programme were Rev. Fr. David Mondal, Fr. Pradeep Roy, Fr. I.C. Jacob, Fr. Bijoy Ghosh, and Fr. Kumudo Digal. The participants were very happy and were grateful for the course. They even expressed that this kind of training should be conducted every year. The course was designed to touch on the Biblical, sacramental, liturgical, moral, pedagogical, ecclesial, and ecumenical dimensions of our faith. Special thanks to all the parish priests who sent their catechists for training.
